Pomegranate

Cultivation of the area between the Balkans and the Himalayas. It belongs to the Punicaceae family and to the genus Punica.

Small deciduous tree with knotted root, twisted trunk and gray, extended crown, green leaves with an apical nectar that secretes sugars, big red and bell-shaped flowers, and the fruit is a red, greenish-yellow or white globose berry.

It is a crop with high antioxidant power and rich in vitamins and, currently, is naturalized in the Mediterranean, South America and southern United States.
