ChromaFruit, a new Stoller product that enhances the fruit color change processes, has shown excellent results in its research line within the GO COLOR 4.0 operational project presented by the Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), last June 2.
This project where Les Planes, Tornafruit and Fruilar cooperatives actively collaborate has been focused to identify the complementary and synergistic strategies in the color improvement for red apple varieties and, especially, in the Gala and Pink Lady group. Said project has special relevance in order to ensure the highest organoleptic and commercial quality of these apple varieties, grown in low altitude areas and low thermal gradient.
The analysis, which included the three lines of research programmed in the project: nitrogen fertilization management, management of defoliation operations and biostimulation strategies, showed the excellent results obtained in the induction and enhancement of the color change process, both in percentage of colored fruit surface and intensity, by the Stoller product ChromaFruit.
ChromaFruit is a product with the ability to naturally promote the synthesis of color pigments (carotenoids and anthocyanins). Specially designed to be applied to apple and cherry trees, it favors the color change of its fruits, increasing its incidence in surface area and intensity.
