Mandarin

Native to Southeast Asia. It belongs to the Rutaceae family and to the genus Citrus.

The tree is smaller than the orange tree and is more rounded, its roots are solid and white, the leaves are unifoliate and reticular, the flowers are either solitary or in groups of 3 or 4 and the fruit is a hesperidium. They are cultivated for their fruits which are highly demanded.

Currently, citrus trees are the most produced fruits in the world and the most productive countries are producers of Brazil, the United States and China.
