Crops originating in Europe and Asia. They belong to the family Rosaceae and to the genus Pyrus.
They are right trees, with gray bark and covered with lenticels. It has a surface root (apple) or deep (pear), oval leaves, large flowers and white or pale pink color and the fruit is a pommel.
Its importance is that they are crops rich in vitamins and the countries most producing worldwide are China and the United States.
