Orange

Native to Southeast Asia. It belongs to the Rutaceae family and to the genus Citrus.

It is a small tree, short trunk, with oval leaves measuring between 7 to 10 cm which are frequently stipulated. Its branches sometimes have large thorns (more than 10 cm). Its flowers are slightly aromatic and the fruit is a hesperidium. It is cultivated for its fruits which have a pleasant flavor are produced for fresh consumption, but can also be commercialized in the fourth range and as juices, jams or jellies.

The peel has industrial applications and the most producing countries are Brazil, the United States and Mexico.
