Loquat

Originally from China. It belongs to the family Rosaceae and to the genus Eryobotria.

It is a tall perennial tree, with round crown, very short trunk, superficial root, coriaceous leaves, large, lanceolate and extremely hairy (although the hair falls) and with margin sawed, white flowers grouped in hairy panicles and the fruit is a pommel with large seeds.

It is a crop rich in vitamins and the main producing countries are Japan, Brazil, Algeria and India.
