Cotton

Originating in tropical America, Asia and Africa. It belongs to the family Malvaceae and to the genus Gossypium.

The plant has an erect stem with branching, its leaves are large and petiolate, an intense green color with lobulated margins, large flowers, solitary and pendular (it is a plant autogamous) and the fruit is a capsule in ovoid form.

The cotton crop is destined to the consumption of the textile fiber and the United States, China and India are the main producers of cotton of the world.
