Originally from Asia Minor, Lebanon and Syria. It belongs to the Cruciferae family and Brassica genus.
It has a pivotal root, erect leaves with wavy edges and marked white ribbons, granular pellets that are conical conglomerates, small yellow flowers in the shape of a cross and the fruit is a silve of convex leaflets that produces rosy round seeds.
It is a vegetable highly appreciated for its ability to prevent disease and Spain is the world’s leading producer.
